If you're not an animal person, skip this blog. This blog is dedicated to my dogs. Anyone who knows me, knows I am an animal lover. I can't remember a time in my life that I didn't have a dog. So this blog is dedicated to my puppies. I've said this many times, but I like animals a lot more than I like people. I'm really over the whole people thing, maybe I am just meeting all the WRONG people. But that is neither here nor there.....anyway a dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his. Each of my dogs (like people)has their own personalities and quirks, and I love them for it.
HUNTER (AKA big girl) age: 10
Hunter is the leader of the pack. She might let Rocko think he is, but she can always put him in his place. Hunter is technically my brother Jason's dog, but when he moved out he had to leave Hunter behind. Hunter is very very loving. She can tell you everything you need to know with one look. And she is so smart! She had a litter of puppies one time and she was such a good little mom. She loves sleeping on her back with all four legs in the air. She often falls asleep with her toy in her mouth for fear that someone will come steal while she sleeps. She loves bubble wrap, she will nibble on it until she gets every last bubble. She loves her babies her chew toys). She has a process each time we get her a new one. She also loves ripping off the eyes and nose, and then she will rip out all the fluff. She is so so loving and is always such a good dog. She loves the soft jerky dog treats, and she loves camping. She will just sit out in the meadow and sunbath. She likes to sit out there and smell all the different scents in the mountain wind. She loves going for rides in the car, but she can't jump in or out so we have to pick her up, which is tough. She's getting really old now and doesn't move too well but she is still our baby girl.
ROCKO (AKA Big Boy, Jocko, Rock, Fat Head) age: 8
Rocko is our "special" dog. This dog is a mess! But as you can see he is GORGEOUS!! My mom and dad bought Rocko as a surprise for me. They got him in Fillmore Utah. They picked him specifically because he was the runt of the little... he is now a beast so I would hate to see how the
normal size puppies turned out. As I said my baby is GORGEOUS, but he is quite possible the dumbest dog ever. He HATES when it rains or thunders, and if it is even slightly over cast outside he can sense it and we have to give him xanex. When he gets scared or nervous his nails come out and he can't get traction on the hard wood floors. Sometimes he will be walking along completely normal and then he just freaks out and slipping all over the place. He thinks he is the size of a chihuahua, and he is always trying to crawl on my lap or lay on top of me. He hates when people are up after he wants to go to bed. He will wine and cry and crawl all over people until you take him to bed and lay down with him until he falls asleep. So yes, he is slightly neurotic, but he has occasional moments of clarity. He usually comes to see me in the mornings to wake me up, and sometimes we will have a silent talk, or just a stare down. It depends on his mood. But he always knows when I'm sad or sick and sometimes he gets very protective and jealous. He doesn't like when other people come over and take my attention away from him. One time we had a bug guy come and spray for bugs around our house. When the guy went around the back of the house to spray int he backyard, Rocko got very upset and jumped THROUGH our sliding glass window. He cut up his front legs really bad. We took him to the vet, (which he was not happy about, but we couldn't wait for the xanex to kick in) they said that Rocko was "unmanageable" and asked us not to bring him back. They apparently had to knock him out just to be able to look at the cuts. He has also bit Abbie and Georgia when they were puppies because he was jealous. Rocko loves camping and loves to play in lakes, streams, puddles ect. He also loves grapes and really any kind of fruit(which PS i found out that grapes are like poison to dogs). Rocko is NOT an obedient dog by any stretch of the imagination. He will get away with anything he can. If you let him in the front yard and take your eyes off him for 1 second, he will be gone. He is horribly jealous when the other dogs get attention. All the dogs love to fetch tennis balls but Rocko only wants it so that the other dogs can't have it. Once he gets the ball, it's hard to get it away from him. He is so tall that he can reach anything he wants on the counters. If you're not watching, he will steal food right off your plate while you're sitting right there. He's horrible!! But he is horribly cute, and you can't help but love him. Seriously, how could you not love that face?
ABBIE (AKA Abbie Crabby, Scar Face, Ab, Abbers) age 4
Abbie is my little midget dog. She is so sweet and so pretty, but she has super short stubby legs. I think she is done growing. I got Abbie in Cedar City Utah on my way home from General Conference. Abbie and Georgia are BFF. They do everything together. She supports Breast Cancer Awareness, and we take her on the 5 k run every year. Abbie loves to be with people. Sometimes when she is home by herself for a long time she is extra needy. She will follow me around the rest of the day because she wants to cuddle and rub on me. Sometimes Abbie pretends like she can't jump up on the bed because she wants you to pick her up and put her up there. She's heavier than she looks. She has a scar by her right eye from one time that Rocko bit her. She had to get staples to close it up, so sometime I call her scar face. She also has a cowlick that looks like a hurricane. Abbie is a lot like hunter. It must be something about yellow labs, they are just such good dogs.
Georgia (Georgie, Georgie Porgie, George) age 3
Georgia is the baby. She has a tail that goes a million miles an hour. We're pretty sure she doesn't have feeling in it, because she hits it on poles and corners and the fridge ect ect. The worst is when she whips you with the tail. You have to be careful not to get too close when she is excited. Sometimes she hits it so hard she'll cut it open and that's a huge mess. She is kind of skiddish, and she gets scared easily. She has to feel people out first. She still to this day runs from my brother Jason. Georgia really is a lap dog. She loves to lay on my dad's lap to sleep and cuddle. She loves loves loves to play catch. She will run after the ball until you make her stop. She is faster than all the other dogs. She very rarely gives kisses, but she likes to get really close and just smell your lips. She likes to sleep with her head hanging off the bed, or up across your pillow. Like seriously across your pillow, so you have to find somewhere else to put your head. Georgia's name was almost Martina, but Christy named her Georgia Brown, and now we call her Sweet Georgia Brown. Georgia is my mom's cancer dog. Georgie came from the same breeder that I got Abbie from. The breeder contacted me and said that she had another litter of chocolate pups and wanted know if we were interested. So I called my mom and convinced her to get her. She really didn't want to at first. But I talked her into and she is so happy that I did. Georgia actually inspired the color I painted my house. I was looking for the perfect brown, and then I came across a color called Sweet Georgia Brown, and I had to use it. It was meant to be, because it is the perfect brown. Georgia is a troublemaker too. She is just as sneaky as Rocko but she waits until nobody is around. We have caught her eating food off the table, only she full on climbs on top of the table. Nothing is safe with these dogs around. Rocko bit Georgia when she was a puppy. She was okay but she had to wear one of those cones around her head. We saved the cone in case we ever needed it again. About a year ago, we came home one day and she had the cone on again. We have no idea how she got in the closet or got it on her head, but she was stuck. I just love her!
Those are my dogs and I love love love them!!!
