Bugged

The things that bug me.....

1) Loud eating of any kind, and please close your mouth when you chew....really just bad manners in general bug me.

2) When people get out of the shower and drip all over the place so that the bathroom floor is wet. If I go in there barefoot, yes I realize it's just water, but still ewww!

3) People who can't appreciate other points of view because they are close minded, and can't handle someone disagreeing with them.

4) When people talk a lot, but say nothing.

5) Fakeness

6) Being late or disorganized

7) Ungratefulness

8) When someone tries to talk to me or be super cheery first thing in the morning. Give me 10 minutes!

9) When parents fail to parent their children and let them run amuck in public. Just because you can have kids, doesn't mean you should.

10) When girls who are obviously skinny do the I'm so fat thing.....shut up, no body cares!

11) When someone takes out the trash (yay thanks for the help) but doesn't put a new bag in the trash can.

12) Vacuuming. For some reason if I am vacuuming, it's fine, but if someone else is vacuuming, the noise drives me crazy

13) tickle torture...it's just wrong on many many levels.

14) When people don't like animals

15) When people have volume issues. Like when people talk louder when they are on their cell phone, or when someone is sitting right across from you and they are practically screaming.

I tag....anybody who needs to vent :) I feel better, you will too :)

My Babies

If you're not an animal person, skip this blog. This blog is dedicated to my dogs. Anyone who knows me, knows I am an animal lover. I can't remember a time in my life that I didn't have a dog. So this blog is dedicated to my puppies. I've said this many times, but I like animals a lot more than I like people. I'm really over the whole people thing, maybe I am just meeting all the WRONG people. But that is neither here nor there.....anyway a dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his. Each of my dogs (like people)has their own personalities and quirks, and I love them for it.

HUNTER (AKA big girl) age: 10

Hunter is the leader of the pack. She might let Rocko think he is, but she can always put him in his place. Hunter is technically my brother Jason's dog, but when he moved out he had to leave Hunter behind. Hunter is very very loving. She can tell you everything you need to know with one look. And she is so smart! She had a litter of puppies one time and she was such a good little mom. She loves sleeping on her back with all four legs in the air. She often falls asleep with her toy in her mouth for fear that someone will come steal while she sleeps. She loves bubble wrap, she will nibble on it until she gets every last bubble. She loves her babies her chew toys). She has a process each time we get her a new one. She also loves ripping off the eyes and nose, and then she will rip out all the fluff. She is so so loving and is always such a good dog. She loves the soft jerky dog treats, and she loves camping. She will just sit out in the meadow and sunbath. She likes to sit out there and smell all the different scents in the mountain wind. She loves going for rides in the car, but she can't jump in or out so we have to pick her up, which is tough. She's getting really old now and doesn't move too well but she is still our baby girl.

ROCKO (AKA Big Boy, Jocko, Rock, Fat Head) age: 8

Rocko is our "special" dog. This dog is a mess! But as you can see he is GORGEOUS!! My mom and dad bought Rocko as a surprise for me. They got him in Fillmore Utah. They picked him specifically because he was the runt of the little... he is now a beast so I would hate to see how the
normal size puppies turned out. As I said my baby is GORGEOUS, but he is quite possible the dumbest dog ever. He HATES when it rains or thunders, and if it is even slightly over cast outside he can sense it and we have to give him xanex. When he gets scared or nervous his nails come out and he can't get traction on the hard wood floors. Sometimes he will be walking along completely normal and then he just freaks out and slipping all over the place. He thinks he is the size of a chihuahua, and he is always trying to crawl on my lap or lay on top of me. He hates when people are up after he wants to go to bed. He will wine and cry and crawl all over people until you take him to bed and lay down with him until he falls asleep. So yes, he is slightly neurotic, but he has occasional moments of clarity. He usually comes to see me in the mornings to wake me up, and sometimes we will have a silent talk, or just a stare down. It depends on his mood. But he always knows when I'm sad or sick and sometimes he gets very protective and jealous. He doesn't like when other people come over and take my attention away from him. One time we had a bug guy come and spray for bugs around our house. When the guy went around the back of the house to spray int he backyard, Rocko got very upset and jumped THROUGH our sliding glass window. He cut up his front legs really bad. We took him to the vet, (which he was not happy about, but we couldn't wait for the xanex to kick in) they said that Rocko was "unmanageable" and asked us not to bring him back. They apparently had to knock him out just to be able to look at the cuts. He has also bit Abbie and Georgia when they were puppies because he was jealous. Rocko loves camping and loves to play in lakes, streams, puddles ect. He also loves grapes and really any kind of fruit(which PS i found out that grapes are like poison to dogs). Rocko is NOT an obedient dog by any stretch of the imagination. He will get away with anything he can. If you let him in the front yard and take your eyes off him for 1 second, he will be gone. He is horribly jealous when the other dogs get attention. All the dogs love to fetch tennis balls but Rocko only wants it so that the other dogs can't have it. Once he gets the ball, it's hard to get it away from him. He is so tall that he can reach anything he wants on the counters. If you're not watching, he will steal food right off your plate while you're sitting right there. He's horrible!! But he is horribly cute, and you can't help but love him. Seriously, how could you not love that face?

ABBIE (AKA Abbie Crabby, Scar Face, Ab, Abbers) age 4

Abbie is my little midget dog. She is so sweet and so pretty, but she has super short stubby legs. I think she is done growing. I got Abbie in Cedar City Utah on my way home from General Conference. Abbie and Georgia are BFF. They do everything together. She supports Breast Cancer Awareness, and we take her on the 5 k run every year. Abbie loves to be with people. Sometimes when she is home by herself for a long time she is extra needy. She will follow me around the rest of the day because she wants to cuddle and rub on me. Sometimes Abbie pretends like she can't jump up on the bed because she wants you to pick her up and put her up there. She's heavier than she looks. She has a scar by her right eye from one time that Rocko bit her. She had to get staples to close it up, so sometime I call her scar face. She also has a cowlick that looks like a hurricane. Abbie is a lot like hunter. It must be something about yellow labs, they are just such good dogs.

Georgia (Georgie, Georgie Porgie, George) age 3

Georgia is the baby. She has a tail that goes a million miles an hour. We're pretty sure she doesn't have feeling in it, because she hits it on poles and corners and the fridge ect ect. The worst is when she whips you with the tail. You have to be careful not to get too close when she is excited. Sometimes she hits it so hard she'll cut it open and that's a huge mess. She is kind of skiddish, and she gets scared easily. She has to feel people out first. She still to this day runs from my brother Jason. Georgia really is a lap dog. She loves to lay on my dad's lap to sleep and cuddle. She loves loves loves to play catch. She will run after the ball until you make her stop. She is faster than all the other dogs. She very rarely gives kisses, but she likes to get really close and just smell your lips. She likes to sleep with her head hanging off the bed, or up across your pillow. Like seriously across your pillow, so you have to find somewhere else to put your head. Georgia's name was almost Martina, but Christy named her Georgia Brown, and now we call her Sweet Georgia Brown. Georgia is my mom's cancer dog. Georgie came from the same breeder that I got Abbie from. The breeder contacted me and said that she had another litter of chocolate pups and wanted know if we were interested. So I called my mom and convinced her to get her. She really didn't want to at first. But I talked her into and she is so happy that I did. Georgia actually inspired the color I painted my house. I was looking for the perfect brown, and then I came across a color called Sweet Georgia Brown, and I had to use it. It was meant to be, because it is the perfect brown. Georgia is a troublemaker too. She is just as sneaky as Rocko but she waits until nobody is around. We have caught her eating food off the table, only she full on climbs on top of the table. Nothing is safe with these dogs around. Rocko bit Georgia when she was a puppy. She was okay but she had to wear one of those cones around her head. We saved the cone in case we ever needed it again. About a year ago, we came home one day and she had the cone on again. We have no idea how she got in the closet or got it on her head, but she was stuck. I just love her!

Those are my dogs and I love love love them!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

For the holidays my department offers our personal shopper to the hotel executives to "help" do their Christmas shopping. Of course all the executives waited until the last minute to we were running around like crazy. It was stressful, but so much fun. They basically handed over their black American express cards, and we got to go crazy :) It so much fun spending money when it's not your money. It was all Chanel,Valentino, Marc Jacobs, and Manolo. One executives wife even got 4 kt diamond earrings! Anyway after running all over the two properties, we had to gift wrap everything and deliver them. Again, stressful but overall it was a lot of fun. So on Christmas Day I went over to Dad and Christy's house. Dad told me to be there at 8, so I was there at 8. Too bad Jason didn't show up until 10:30. Ya, I could have slept 2 hours longer. Anyway, we opened presents. Dad is so easy to please. He was so excited about his Mamma Mia sing a long. Christy loved her new lap top. You never know with Jason... for all I know he returned every one of his gifts, but whatev. We vegged out most of the day. But we had made plans to go see Marley & Me which was horribly sad. Then driving home Christy had to revisit and reflect on the death of every family pet we have ever had...... I always say that it is never officially a holiday unless there is fighting and crying. Christy is almost always kind enough to supply both and she didn't let us down this year. So Christmas was pretty much over after the melt down.

Overall, I feel glad that 2008 is over. I feel really proud of myself for accomplishing a lot of things that I wanted to do. I got to cross 6 things off my list of things to do before I die. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

ENCORE- Isn't She Lovely?

Encore is finally open! Well actually it's been open for about 3 weeks, I'm just behind on blogging. Isn't it pretty? Our Grand Opening isn't until Jan 24th, but it feels so great to be done. This hotel has taken over my life and many other's lives for the last 6 months. Before the resort opened to the public we got to go eat at all the restaurants and some people stayed int he suites. Everything was wonderful. All our stores look beautiful! I feel so lucky to be involved with such a huge project even if was in such a small way. I am really happy to have my life back too :) This week things have finally gone back to pre encore normalcy.

7 Random Things

Okay,so Karen tagged me like a month ago and I never got around to it but better late than never. So here we go.....

1. I LOVE Julie Andrews- I can't think of a single bad thing about her. She's classy, good peeps. Mary Poppins was/is one of my favorite movies.

2. I am tattooed, and I want more....they are so addictive

3. I am viciously protective of those that I love, and I am endlessly loyal to them until they betray my trust. "My good opinion, once lost, is lost forever"

4. I'm a pretty private person, so it's actually kind of strange that I have a blog.

5. Marriage and babies are not really on my to do list. I'm okay with that, but most people in my life are not.

6. I accidentally started a grease fire in my kitchen when I was 12. I threw water on the fire and basically blew up the kitchen.

7. I fell down the stairs in Klaipeda one time too, but mine was not as bad as Karen and Emily's

So that's it. I tag Emery & Nicole

Beth's Wedding

So Beth's wedding was last weekend and it was perfect!. It was intimate and beautiful, and so much fun. I'm used to Mormon weddings where people invite everyone they have ever met in their their lives to the reception. And they always have DJ's or music playing. but nobody ever dances. I haven't been to that many non Mormon weddings but this was definitely my favorite thus far. We had been staying at the venetian since Thursday, and on Friday night Beth just wanted to take it easy so we had appetizers at the Grand Lux Cafe downstairs. It was Beth, myself, Donna (the other bridesmaid), and Beth's new step daughter Lynsey. We had a good trying to embarrass Beth. She is impossible to embarrass, she'll go along with anything. She's got so much moxie and she is so sassy. Our waiter, Patrick Sweety, as we like to call him played along with us and we all had a great time. We were just killing time until Royce (Donna's husband) flight got in. They are from Louisiana and they are awesome. Royce and Donna are the cutest couple I have ever seen. It is so obvious that they are MADLY in love with each other. It so funny because Donna is so the life of the party and will do anything once, and Royce is quiet and shy. But they are so perfect for each other. Anyway once Royce got in Beth decided she wanted to go to Dick's Last Resort at Excalibur. I thought it might be a bad idea because Dick's is one of those restaurants where they are purposely rude to you. They will tell you to $*!k off, or give you hard time. Beth is not the kind of girl who takes "ness" from anyone, but we all had a good time. At Dick's they make you hats for you to wear that are really crude and usually really rude, so if you're easily offended, don't look at the pictures. The Manager there is named Taco and he wears a red g-string and gives lap dances to those that are especially unlucky. We were hoping he would give Beth a lap dance but he left early on Friday. They also had a live band there which was fun. They were playing a lot of old school song. They were horrible singers, but that almost made it more fun. Plus it was the last night of the Rodeo so there were a ton of cute cowboys running around. Anyway- we didn't want to stay out too late since the next day was the big day :)
So we went back to the Venetian and went to bed. Saturday went surprising well. We didn't have any huge catastrophes. I did burn my next with my curling iron so now it looks like a have a hickey on my neck. It pissed me off so I wore my hair straight. I'll show that curling iron who's boss! We lounged around for a while, and eventually got Beth in her dress. She looked gorgeous! Ya know how sometimes when you're in the casino and you see a bride walk by and you think oh how fun. It was really fun this time because it was Beth. The ceremony was perfect. Before we started. Johnny and Beth both were so nervous, but then when Beth came down the isle and they saw each other, you could tell that it was like no one else was there except the two of them. After the ceremony was over, the fun began. Beth had given a really great play list to the DJ and we had so much fun dancing and laughing. What can I say...good food, good friends, laughing, dancing and love. Sounds like good times to me:)

Bachlorette Party!!

My very dear friend Beth is getting married and I am so happy for her. Her first husband was someone that was undeserving of her, but she has found the perfect guy for her. They are so good for each other, and they are so happy just like they deserve to be. Beth is a pretty laid back kind of gal so being a bridesmaid really hasn't been that demanding. For the bachlorette party, the first stop was Stripper 101. Only in Vegas can you find a stripper class. I unfortunately missed this part because I couldn't get away from work early. But from what they described, it was defiantly not something they will ever forget. I met up with the group at the murder mystery show at the 4 Queens downtown. The show was called Marriage Can Be Murder, so we thought it would be the perfect theme. Although now that I think about it, the show had nothing to do with marriage...hmmm. Anyway it was really fun trying to figure out who the murderer was and trying to to figure who was or wasn't a part of the show. There were 2 empty seats at our table so they sat a couple with us that "said" it was their second date. Their names were Gary & Carrie. We had just been served the salad and Gary gets up and starts firing a gun and threatening people. I should have known that they were int he show, I'm so gullible sometimes. Then while Gary is running around with this gun a cop comes in and shoots him. It was such a fun show. We got to participate int he show. The cop comes around and questions people. We got to be rowdy, and everyone had a good time. Then we went back the hotel and Beth opened her bachlorette gifts. Then it was back out on the town. I had so much fun with these girls, they were a blast.
